Sarah from the band Turning Violet Violet, during their record release for Double Cure @ Kung Fu Necktie. I didn't even notice the necklace during the show, so a nice surprise and really what makes this image pop for me. She later mentioned a friend made it-super cool! 2012-05-26.

This is Carly from the Attic Dancers from their Carrier record release at KFN. Ruby the Hatchet and Paper Masques opened. I think it was Ruby who drew me to the show--I'd somehow stumbled on a video of them playing the Stone Pony and wanted to check them out. Amazing show! Full disclosure, I'm not even sure if I took this shot, as a buddy of mine was along and we were taking turns with my new f/1.4 lens. At very least, this looks like a capture I would have taken.
The drummer, Joe, was super nice and invited us back to his place for a little gathering afterward; really great vibe. I remember longing to live in a place like Fishtown, if only the parking could be avoided!
Not even sure if the Attic Dancers are still doing music, but hope to run into them again sometime. Believe Sean the guitarist, who played with the Attic Dancers at this show, is rocking with Ruby these days.

They opened for DRGN KING, whom I'd been wanting to see. Did I use "whom" right just now? Anyway, great show! Hope to catch them again in Philly soon. February 2015.

Matt from PHOX, exploring the space during his crescendoic solo in Noble Heart.
So happy I was able to see this group again before they move on to other efforts. Ridiculous level of talent for just one stage. Maybe it's only fair to go separate ways and spread it around a bit? j/k--fair is for the birds--plz don't leave us. But if you must, travel safe, and be well

Jason and Davey from PHOX. Amazing amazing show. I drum a bit, and am continually impressed by Davey's wonderfully subtle style. Not overly flashy; he instead keeps it dialed down for the perfect music compliment. It's not always easy to rein yourself in as the drummer.
Jason: your obvious guitar chops aside, I will be eternally envious of your angelic falsetto.
Take care on the tour! Hope to hear you all again, in whatever form that may take.

I took a B/W film class during my second college tour. Amazing experience; tons of work; hours and hours in the dark room. Each week or two we had a particular photographic element to go after like blur, reflection, chiaroscuro, etc.
Here's a capture of some good friends playing a tune. I was shooting for my "stop motion" submission. Matthew on the right was soloing pretty fast, so I felt this qualified. My prof, who was very cool in general, gave me a little bit of a hard time for choosing this subject for stop motion. Whatev! Shoutout to Mr. Joshua on the left. Spring 2008.

Not sure on exif. Exposed from negative for unknown amount of time with some dodging/burning. Zero digital editing.
We caught this group named Wine and Alchemy at Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. Very talented people! The guitarist was incredible, too, although he is not shown here. September 2016.

I'm a sucker for a neat self-portrait. Jon's glasses were whoa-reflective, so this one just sort of took itself. Salvo, OBX. August 2012.

I first learned about The Deer Tracks because of this show, where they opened for Turning Violet Violet. I was after that feather tied to David's guitar the whole night. One of the better captures (tricky light, it was hard!). 6/22/2012
